Hi, I'm Glory. I move the pen.

  • I have a passion for creating handmade work with real, personalized designs in the midst of an ever-increasing automated world. 
  • Based in Michigan, my work and my life are centered around creativity and the outdoors. I hope to reflect the beauty of our creator’s world into my designs.

STARTING WITH A SKETCH.

Before picking up a wood burner, my art began with pencil and paper. Many years of practice stand as the foundation for my work. Here are some of my most recent sketches:

My customizing work is an extension of my personal life through my passions for beauty, creativity, and craftmanship.

HOW IT STARTED:

Could you do this?

That's what my brother said when he asked me to draw a design on his Birkenstock clogs. And so I drew this picture of a cowboy roping a bull onto them using my fine-lining pens. My first pair of Birkenstocks was customized.

Later on...

I acquired another pair of Birkenstocks, this time, a pair of Arizona sandals. I imagined the straps were a perfect canvas for some fish. My first pair of "fishenstocks" were created. I posted them on Instagram, and you guys loved them.

Now...

I take my love for bringing art and detail into reality by hand-burning your favorite Birkenstock shoes. Each custom pair is an original work of art, created here at the Outpost, with the careful craftsmanship of intentional, hand-made art.

MY PROCESS:

Blank Canvas

Each project starts with the shoe on its own. The material must be genuine leather - oiled, simple nubuck, or suede.

Pyrography

Next comes the burning process. Each shoe is carefully customized with a wood burning pen.

Designs

Finally, your finished design. Every design is unique and detailed. My intention is to give the shoes personal character while preserving the beauty of God's creation through design.
